The sun was rising and it was an very early morning. I headed out of the house to go fishing. I arrived at my fishing spot, and I started setting everything up. It was a calm clear morning, perfect for fishing. I did not have a boat so I would have to shore fish which can turn into a good day even though I didn't have a boat. I have a very rich good feeling inside like its going to be a very rewarding day. I put a worm on and cast my first cast out which goes a long ways. I let it sit there and wait for a bite. As I take a drink of water I notice that my bobber has went down. I grab my fishing pole with my two hands and start reeling in. I set the hook, started reeling in and it seemed to fight pretty hard, This could be a big one. I keep fighting and fighting with it, reeling in and adjusting the drag. Finally I manage to pull it out of the water. It was a pretty good sized bluegill which is good for our first catch. I cast in again and it goes a littler shorter this time. I wait about 2 minutes and something takes it again. I start to feel in and this time it goes quite smoothly and I pull in another bluegill which is a little small then the last one. I decide to change it up a little bit and put on a scum frog. I cast it out for a first time onto some lily pads that I have spotted. I reel it in with 3 reels, pause and start again. I do this slowly and all of a sudden something jumps out of the water and starts to take my scum frog. I start to reel in and it is quite hard but I just keep reeling in and all of a sudden it gets off which just plain sucks. You know what they say, try, try and try again. I cast out a little farther but onto some lily pads and repeat the same thing. Reel in 3 time around slowly, give a pause and start reeling again. Everything is calm all of a sudden BAM!!!! I start to reel in a set the hook, The fish is fighting fiercely, It feels like a monster. I keeping reeling in and adjust the drag trying not to snap the line. I just keep on reeling even though my arms and hands are getting tired. This fish is fighting really hard and all of a sudden I must be getting it close to shore because I see this huge fish and I start pulling it out of the water with excitement in my eyes. It is 25 inch bass and I am amazed. I can't believe that I have caught something so big. It has been a very rewarding day.
This was the Big Bass!!!
