How to Grill Steaks

Grilling can be a very relaxing exercise. It can get you away from stress after a hard day plus it gets you into the outdoors. Steak has a lot of protein, which lets you get the most out of your workout. It also has zinc, vitamin B-12 and iron. These are good for you, zinc improves immunity, vitamin b-12 puts your brain and nervous system at peak performance. Iron helps the body produce red blood cells and helps the body carry oxygen from the lungs to blood cells and tissues.

I would pick an Angus steak, Kobe steak would be awesome but it is like $100 a pound and it is imported from Japan. Once you select your steak, the best thing to do is to get it the same day you are cooking it to keep it fresh. If you can't do that then get it and put it in the fridge if your going to cook it that week, it should still be pretty fresh. Try to stay away from the freezer unless you have to, if you have to you have to.

Make sure it is thawed and is at room temperature. If you are going to marinade the steaks, you should put the steaks in the marinade about a day before in the refrigerator.

Light the grill and put it on the highest setting with the cover closed for about 20 minutes. May be longer for a charcoal grill. The key here is to have a hot grill so you can sear your steaks to seal juices in.

Once the grill has been on high heat with cover closed, you can throw on the steaks. Throw them on each side for 3 minutes on high heat to sear the steaks.

After searing is completed, turn down the heat to medium to medium low. The key is to cook the steaks slower now because the searing has been completed. This insures the best amount of juices in the steak.

Season the steaks how you want, I prefer to use the griller's mate seasoning for steaks. Flip the steaks every few minutes to insure equal cooking.

Depending how thick of cut you have, you are going to want to either cut open the steaks to check how done it is or get a digital thermometer and check the temperature for the doneness to get it to your preferred doneness.

Once it is done, take the steak off the grill and let it cool a minute or two, eat and enjoy!
