What are Antioxidants?

Antioxidants are in the food we eat. The most common form of them are vitamins. They fight off free radicals which cause oxidation to the body which is harmful. The body normally can fight off these free radicals but if they become excessive, the body needs help by antioxidants.

Antioxidants also help in a bunch of different ways. They enhances the immune system so it works better. They slow down the aging process, which everyone is interested in that one. They reduce the risks of cancer and heart attacks. These are just a few of the things that they do for us.

Antioxidants can be found in a lot of food and drinks. If you like drinking a lot of green tea, this is a source of antioxidants.

Most Americans get their source of antioxidants from coffee. Coffee is more then just a jolt of energy in the morning, it has antioxidants in it.

The best source of antioxidants are in fruits and vegetables. Have about 7-14 servings per day is recommended because they are rich in antioxidants.

Antioxidants not only protect you from free radicals but they offer tons of health benefits. Put some fruit and vegetables in your diet to start taking advantage of antioxidants!
