How I quit drinking soda!!!
On July 3rd 2008 I was thinking and just thought in my head, "I'm gonna quit drinking soda". I want to quit drinking because I would drink to many sodas in one day. I was feeling tired all the time and I thought this could be part of the cause of being tired. I replaced soda drinking with water and sometimes juice. This helped a lot because I got the craving to drink something a lot. I would try to drink water in place of the soda but sometimes I would just have to drink some juice. I like the taste of different drinks. Juice once in a while won't hurt, you just can't drink to much of it if your looking to lose some weight like I am. I would also drink Lipton citrus green tea. I really like that stuff because it tastes good. The only bad thing with it, it does have a lot of sugar in it and calories but it's not soda plus its better for you then soda. Soda has a lot of caffeine,sugar, and carbonated water. Even if you drink diet soda, it is a little better but it still isn't good for you. What also helped is I liked to look up on the internet and find all the positive things about quitting soda and look at all the stuff it does to you. Phosphorus that is in most sodas causes bone loss because it inhibits the absorption of calcium. High fructose corn syrup is linked to high blood sugar and diabetes. The body converts High fructose corn syrup to fat. The carbonation in the soda can cause acid reflux and cancer. Soda can causes dehydration and people that drink soda will have more cavities. Diet soda has aspartame which can cause headaches, blurred vision, and nerve damage. Regular soda and diet soda cause obesity. But like I said, try to drink water instead of anything else because water is the best for you. I hope this helps and good luck with quitting!!!
