What is Dehydration
Dehydration can be deadly, this occurs when more water exits the body, then we take in. It is extremely important to keep your body hydrated especially in high activity situations. Remember, the body needs water to function normally. When you become extremely dehydrated, some of the body's organs may start to fail. Seeking medical help at this point would be advisable.
What causes dehydration?
Basically what causes dehydration is when you need to rehydrate with fluids but you don't do this enough. In a few cases, it may be something not functioning normally that causes you not to be able to rehydrate. In these cases, an IV may be required to get proper redecoration.
When we sweat, we lose water and the water is needed to be re hydrated. Especially on hot days, you want to rehydrate more because you will be sweating more therefore losing more water.
Diarrhea will cause a person to be dehydrated because of the loss of fluids. This is bacially the most common way a person become dehydrated. Children die each year from dehydration from diarrhea, more then four million children.
When you vomit, this causes a person to be dehydrated because of loss of fluids plus when the fluids are trying to be replaced, they may not be able to because you may keep vomiting up the fluids.
How do I know if I'm dehydrated?
When you feel more thirsty to drink more water and your pee has more urine in it (your pee is more yellow). These are signs that you are dehydrated and that you need to rehydrate your body.
Also when you are beginning to feel dry mouth, the body may begin to stop sweating, can cause vomiting, or lightheadedness when you stand up.
When these symtoms a rise, you need to treat it however that you need to, by rehydrating or simply just seeing a doctor. If dehydation gets way out of hand, it can cause death at the most fatal expense.
