I always have loved animals. I love to play with animals, take them for walks or just play little games with them. The thing I never knew that it had health benefits of having a pet. When I first heard of that I was like what, so then I read into it more and it all made sense.
Pets can help reduce stress, they are always there waiting for us to get him. When we get home they are wagging their tails or running around, depends on what kind of pet it is. They are always happy to see you and you are always happy to see them. You spend time together just like you would another person. A lot of our pets are treated as other people. I know when I get home our dogs are always happy to see us, wagging their tails and they are excited. I pet them and that makes them happy. They do some of the craziest stuff that you laugh again and again. It helps reduce depression in the same ways.
People with hypertension that adopted a dog had lower blood pressure readings in stressful situations then people did not have a dog. Older people who have pets, generally have better physical health and mental health. People with pets make fewer doctor visits for non-serious medical conditions. In a 2002 survey conducted by the American Animal Hospital Association, 92 percent of the respondents indicated that they derive significant
health benefits from their pets. People with pets tend to have lower blood pressure.
Heart patients who own pets have a better chance of long term survival. Businesses that let pets into the work place, reduces stress on their employees and improves mental and physical health.
Pets help motivate for exercise. When you take a dog for a walk, it helps you as well as the dog. It makes the dog happy and makes you happy and gives both of you the exercise that you need. It helps you get out and get your exercise. Maybe some people need a reason to be out otherwise they don't want to exercise. A dog does this perfect, you have to take the dog for a walk so that gives you a good reason.
Pets make people happier when they are allow in hospitals and nursing homes. They give them companionship and someone to talk to when no one is around. They help the relieve stress and feel better. They could even live longer because of a pet. Pets even help people in prison, the Ohio State Corrections System, They match up their inmates with dogs for 10 weeks, the inmates then are to teach the dogs basic commands and house training them. They form close bonds with the pets, when it is time for them to say good-bye, it is really hard for the inmates. Even inmates with no heart, they can form a heart and learn to care and love.
I just found all this very interesting that pets can help relieve stress and have health benefits. I have had pets most of my life and yes, life seems less stressful when you have a pet. Pets are awesome and if you want a way to relieve stress, get a pet.

I absolutely agree. My cat is sitting in the chair beside me; as I do my regular blogging. It's so comforting to have him around.
P.S.
Your comment made me laugh:) Thanks.
